Any tips on undervolting a Q9550? BIOS reports 1.256 currently. How low should I attempt at stock clock speeds?

Thanks in advance...

All you can really do is try and see how low you can go, and test for stability like you would if you were overclocking.

Are there low voltage versions of these cpus? What does intel use as the lower limit of the acceptable range?

Drop 1 or 2 notches, prime95 for 5 minutes, repeat until you get an error, raise 1 or 2 notches, prime for an hour or 24 hours depending on how rigorous you want to be, repeat if necessary.

There's no written limit, just hardware limits to be discovered :)

Yes these were basically cherry picked 9650 chips labeled as Q9550s that could run on a little less voltage so that the chips fit into 65W TDP. I believe you can achieve the same by setting vcore to around 1.15V.

Yes you should be able to hit 1.1 to 1.15 range stable.

I had mine down to 1.1 but decided to go the other way with it and OC on stock volts.
