Is the q9450 available from anywhere right now? I seem to have missed it at newegg. :( :( And if not is there any idea of when future shipments will arrive?

$360? Yikes. $200 for E8400 or $360 for q9450, thats rough. Whats the retail on the q9450? I think $200 is about right for the E8400 despite people selling it for $260 recently. So maybe the q9450 will drop in price soon? Want to wait on the noctua NH-U12P to become available so I can wait a bit if it'll drop...

No one has retail Q9x50s. I doubt they will until mid-April (my educated guess, not based on rumor or innuendo).

I agree that the price is high. I would expect them to eventually level off around $325-330 in late April or May.

Thats too too big of a premium then. How does the Q9300 compare to the Q9450? Can't find direct benchmark comparisons. The Q9300 is only $280. Is extra cache and a few more megahertz worth $100? Not sure...
