Q6600 Overclocking Problem

I overclocked my q6600 a while ago. Now when I start it up this morning it wont overclock whatsoever. It also makes this weird sound like a disc is turning almost when i start it up. Also a red light comes on on my gpu when i turn my computer on which i did not notice before. It just strikes me as strange that the night before it was running fine. Only thing i did yesterday was i took out the gpu to try and clean it and ended up not doing it because I couldnt get the screws off. When i put the gpu back in, it ran fine that night and i was playing games and everything. I then turn the power off the power cord and turn the power off for the psu and go to bed. When i wake up it wont boot whatsoever. I even tried to do 2.7 and it still would not work.

My Vcore is at 1.4V
Dram timing at 2.00D
mch at 1.3V
Ram at 2.0V
 
make sure that all the cables are tight...maybe something got lose when you took out the GPU....
also make sure all the fans are working...
 
All the fans are going. Cables all seem to be plugged in. Why would this randomly stop my oc?

My thought was if the aux power to the board was loose, this would limit the power available to the CPU..... I'm not sure if this would cause a no post or an OC problem.....just thought I would throw it out there..

also if the CPU fan was not working, that would cause a problem for sure..even worse at higher voltage....

post the motherboard specs, maybe someone else has some ideas...

What is your Q6600 overclocked to?

Do you have adequate cooling?

Why are you running 1.4V through the Q6600?

I would only hang around 1.3XX.. even for 3.6.., but then again.. I am on air cooling.
 
I have no clue how but i got it back to 3.2. I took the battery out on my mb and put it back in like i was told by gigabyte tech support. I then just did fail safe defaults then optimized or something like that for the bios and then loaded my oc settings and ran it. Computer has a mind of its own.

Also i will try to lower the vcore. I will shoot for 1.35 for now.
 
Reset your cmos, try a different psu if you can...and what revision q6600 are you running? I'm @ 3.2GHz w/ stock voltages across the board.

I wish my q6600 could run stable like that. Mine won't last for 10 mins under Prime95 @3.2ghz and stock voltages. I need it to be at 1.328/1.312v (idle) / 1.295v (load).
