Got my first shuttle from newegg, refurb. I put winxp on int and after it install i get the PXE error check cables and such. I google the issue and people say disable the NIC in boot options so i disable the "other devices" and I get a new error saying OS not found.

I tried 2 diff harddrives on cable select and master, nothign works.

I try an SATA HD and it works fine.

Can I conclude that the IDE port is fubar'd?

Hmm, that is a wierd error as it does indeed refer to the BootROM PXE for your NIC card. I don't see why this would affect the IDE controller but you stated that you disabled other devices. You can go into your BIOS and make sure the IDE Primary and Secondary are enabled, and then check the boot priority and remove the option to boot from your NIC. Other than that I'm at a loss to explain the wierdness of this problem.
