laing dd5 variable, the red variable knob on the back...can you only turn it during operation? I tried setting it before the pump was in the comp and it broke.
 
Yes, you can turn it during operation. How do you mean it broke, though? You turned it too far and snapped it or something? That'd be... challenging.
 
No, actually it not during operation. I took it out from the box. Was getting ready to set it up. I saw it was set to 2. I was trying to turn the dial and the darn thing wouldn't turn. So I got a screwdriver and tried to turn it. It was a little hard so I tried a bit harder and the darn thing snapped and fell out.
 
Great. I already exchanged one today because the wrong one was in the box. Finally with the right one, it's defective. Worst part is, that was the last one at the store. Looks like I'll have to get a return done and order online.
