I have my brother in-laws Canon ntsc elura 60 Digital camcorder, I am trying to pull the video of my daughters drama class one act play, but my computer wont recognize the camera via USB port.

Do i need to have the Canon drivers to pull the video, or am i missing something?

Running windowsxp home on P4 3.2 Ghz, 1 gig of ram.

Thanks,
Charles

I would guess that you need the drivers to get the video, unless it shows up as a removable drive, but that doesn't sound like the case. I looked up the cam in C|Net, and I see that it has IEE 1394 on it...that may be for video, but I will keep looking for ya.

Thanks, AMD[H]unter.

When I went to the website for canon to download the driver, it wanted the serial number from the camera, but i could not find it on the camera, so i called my inlaw, to see if the number might be in the manual, he has yet to return my call.

Maybe someone on the board has the driver are knows where to get it.

Charles

You could try plug in in the camera w/ your computer turned off then start-up your computer and see if it is recognized as new hardware that is if you're using win2k or xp.
