My power supply is blowing some serious hot air. 700w ultra. After about an hour or so of gaming my room feels like a sauna. Power supply goin bad? Upgrade PSU?

Which model is it? If it's one of the lower or less expensive models, thats very normal. Ultra isn't exactly the greatest brand as far as PSU are concerned. But, as far as heat goes, any PSU you get will produce some.

If it really is that bothersome, and you do want to get another one, here are some things to keep in mind. Make sure its got active PFC, I only say that because most of Ultra's PSU don't have it. Make sure you have a solid ampage on the 12v line. And, for you, the >80% efficient ones will create the least amount of heat.

Which power supply would you recommend?...its getting bad especially in the summer. Might need to keep it through the winter huh?

I'm no sure your budget or what type of machine you are powering with this PSU. But a really hot deal atm is the Corsair TX750. It's got active PFC, alot of voltage on the 12V rail, and is comparable to your current 700W as far as wattage goes. Only problem is, is that it only has one 12volt 4/8pin connector. If you need two, you will need to look for another. But for $99, this is a sick deal. Also, it's >80% efficient = less heat, 4 PCI-E 6/8 Pin connectors, and tons of the other molex.
