I currently have a 350w smartblue antec

After im done buying everything... will i need a new psu?

the psu will connect to:
2x sata wd raptors 36gb
1x sata wd 120gb
1x blue cathode coolermaster
1x blue led fan coolermaster
2x front intake fans
1x liteon cd-rw
1x liteon dvd-rom
1x atx motherboard
1x 9800 pro
1x floppy

would 350w hold this stable or would i need a bigger, say 480w smartblue?

Is it going to be running the barton 2500? 350W might be okay, but newer processors suck a lot of electricity, and overclocking needs a very stable psu, so you might want to go at least 400W.
edit: Missed the part that said you had a 350w antec. A 350watt antec will be better than a 450watt noname.

gah, I dont know about this whole needing a "2.2 jigga-watt" power supply thing in order to have a stable system.

my newest Shuttle SB75G2 system came with a WHOPPING ( :D ) 250W power supply which is running my 2.8C @ 3.3Ghz, 9800 Pro, DVD burner, 250GB HDD, w/o one single problem.

sometimes I just think the "bigger is better" power supply thing is a bunch of bunk...

now, I do realize that you do need a bigger sized unit when you're running multiple hard drives and a bazillion cooling fans but for most of us who only have one (or maybe two) hard drives and only one or two fans, having a 300W power supply is more than sufficient.

I would say try your system with the power supply you already have. If no problems then you are set. If not, go for larger capacity ps.

anyone know when the enermax noistaker ax with pfc ver 1.3 is being released. It just says coming soon on their website. I'm looking at the EG475AX-VE (G)/(W)SFMA it looks pretty sweet.

I've had the same antec 300watt psu for the past 4 years and it can't handle my new hard drive. I figure I'll go all out this time since I only upgrade every five years or so.

you have a good amount of hard drives, i would suggest that you get something with 400W or so

The Raptors will suck some juice, but I think you should be ok. Antec makes good PS's, but if you have some stability issues that can't seem to be ruled out from anything else, you might need to upgrade to something bigger. I wouldn't just go to 400 though. I'd futureproof it with at least a 500wt.
