I just finished assembling my new computer (actually, i'm still waiting for newegg to ship my ram, but everything else is completed)

I have the thermaltake modular 650W toughpower PSU, and my board (asus p5w-dh deluxe) has a 4-pin connector on the board. the PSU however has an 8-pin connector

i'm assuming i'm just supposed to line up the 4 pins on the PSU cable that match up to the 4 pins on the board, and the other 4 remaining pins on the cable will just be hanging off to the side? just curious if this is the correct method
