I've recently rebuilt my computer with pretty much all new hardware and a new computer tower and I'm having a power on issue.
Case: Thermaltake Armor+
Power Supply: Corsair HX1000 Watt
Video Card: GTX 275
Processor: Phenom II 965 BE C3
Motherboard: M3A32-MVP Deluxe.
Initially when I installed everything, it would not come on at all, so I re-checked all cords to make sure everything was working, after re-connecting everything, it finally powered on. So I started actually using it, running tests, everything went fine without a hitch. The top of the case has a touch sensitive button to turn on the computer, I accidently grazed that button while using the top tray and it turned the computer off, at that point I could not get it to turn back on.
The green motherboard light was on, but the power switch would not work at all. I tried flipping the switch in the back on the power supply, but no dice. So I went inside the case and disconnected the 24 pin connector from the motherboard, then reinserted it. It powered on right away. This has happened 3 times now.
As long as I shut down the computer properly, I can turn it back on. But any sudden power outage or accidently hitting the button, and it completely loses the ability to turn it back on.
I have ran numerous stress tests (prime 95, etc.) and they've run fine for up to 10 hours. I just recently overclocked the processor to 3.8 ghz with core voltage set to 1.38 and again, it can run stress test fine with no problems. No random power offs, etc..
So, anyone have any clue on why I am unable to power the computer back on when something like that happens? I'm pretty much lost.
