I've been using a generic brand busted PSU, a 500watt'er its exterior got smashed completetly but I salvaged it and used it. Now on the other hand it worked fine for a while, ever since I moved my computer from my house to the new house, it starts to restart automatically and the screen will go on standby with an orange light on its optimized settings in bios.

My 2500 barton is only loading at 11 x 100(1ghz)..

Now is this something with my cpu being burnt or is my PSU just passed its limit of providing power to the comp ?

Please help, I am trying to order online before tomorrow

I apreciate your time as well..

there is no definative answer

ESD & Electromigration Rant (see part 2 electromigration)

as far as the CPU goes it all depends on what you have been feeding the supply in VAC, what the supply has been doing (VDC), what your mobo has been letting through, what thermal range the CPU has been experiencing and what its original electromigration state was to begin with

in any event, getting a decent PSU is the place to start
ideally one you can employ down the road for your next rig
