Hey guys and girls,
I have a 700Watt OCZ ModXtream PSU, that i love. Had it less than a year and have pretty much always had this issue.
I can hear what i think is PSU noise when i scroll in firefox sometimes and just now and then when im using the PC in normal operation. I dont notice anything when i playing games heavily because.. well.. im playing games heavily...Nor whne i have music on (too loud maybe?)
Just wondering what exactly could be causing this, EMI? Bad PSU? etc etc? I have never had any BSOD or any crashing that could point to the PSU and i have an i7 @4ghz etc

This whining/squeezing noise happen on my new build PC,too. Tried change PSU, Videocard. Some ppl said changed all other things still no help. You can try search or goto Corsair PSU forum. Many ppl having the same problem still have no idea or solution.
It looks like it will happen will 200series and 4800series videocard. Sound from the videocard and PSU.

This kind of noise is usually caused by some kind of feedback from the video card's voltage regulation circuitry. It is not harmful, but can be irritating. If it doesn't bother you too much then don't worry about it.
