I have a pc p&c 860 W. the past 2 times i woke my pc up from when vista 64 puts it to sleep or whatever it's referred to as, nothing responds that well for a few minutes.

fresh install, btw.

2nd thing to note: i've had my current psu (bought it new like i do w/ everything) for a few months now; the +12V rail is way off from the included test report. it's always at 12.41 or 12.50. the +5V rail is also out of spec (it's always @ 4.88 or 4.92, which is 2.4% or 1.6%, respectively)

i'm using the included 14 gauge cable.

3rd thing to note: i have a foxconn a79a-s; the sound thru optical screws up for a quick second when hdd or dvd drive is accessed. and the usb 2.0 wireless adaptor's download performance is ~1/2 of what it was and signal strength isn't at 5 bars all the time like it used to be.

nothing is oc'd and temps are great across the board.

some help would be really appreciated=]

NEVER trust voltage readings via software. Get a multimeter.

I have one of my current 6 machines that sort of sometimes works under sleep mode. When, if, it wakes up it does take a bit for the machine to sort itself out.

To be honest I stopped using it all together.

Very doubtful it is your PSU.

Final thought, no matter what the OS, some stuff just doesn't work as advertised;)

Thanks. Do you think it's likely that my +12V rail is really what PC P&C tested it to be? I don't have a multi-meter.

Also, even if it is really 12.41 would that cause any problems?

Also, is it usual for onboard audio to screw up while the dvd-drive is being accessed or under heavy hdd load?

If those numbers are correct they are all within the ATX12v specification limits. But they are software, so they probably are wrong.

Everything seems fine, but is it unusual for audio to crackle even with optical hookup when the hdd and dvd drive are being accessed?

I really doubt that has the slightest thing to do with your PSU. It's most likely just a byproduct of the onboard sound chip on your motherboard not being all that great.
