Computer isn't booting up. Everythings plugged in correctly and on. The green light on the motherboard is still on though. So could it still be the PSU that's dead, or is it the power button that's broken?

Thanks~

Could be ANYTHING.

Is the PSU the only new part, or the whole build?

Did you do ANY troubleshooting yet?

It's not my computer so no. I've only replaced the HDD so far, no go.

It's not that it's not loading windows or anything. The power just won't turn on, at all. Clicking the power on button does nothing.

Right. But that can be a loose connector, a short in ANYTHING that's getting power from the power supply (dead hard drive, frayed cable, etc.) a dead CPU, a dead motherboard... ANYTHING.

Troubleshooting needs to be done starting with unplugging EVERYTHING from the PSU and EVERYTHING from the motherboard except for the bare essentials. Power to the motherboard, CPU in socket, no RAM, no video card, no IDE cables, etc., no power to any drives, lights, etc. and then see if you can get power. With no RAM or no video card, you should at least get a beep out of the motherboard.

If not, at least you know it's the PSU, the motherboard or the CPU.

If it's a new build, I would pull the motherboard out of the case to make sure whomever built it didn't ground out the bottom of the board on the case or an extra stand-off.

If it still doesn't power up, you need to unplug the power supply from the motherboard and jumper the green wire to a black wire to see if you can get the fan in the PSU to even spin up. If it doesn't, then I would say the PSU is dead.
