Hi all, I've recently finished installing watercooling in my new(ish) computer. I couldn't be happier with the cooling performance and low noise. I do, however, have one problem. My Power supply (Thermaltake 680w purepower) is making a clicking noise and it's driving me insane. I have eliminated the possibility of the noise coming from any or the fans in the case or PSU. I can hear the clicking noise coming through my headphones when I'm not playing music or anything so it seems to be interfering electrically with my onboard sound.
One other thing I've noticed is that is a bit strange is that the noise filter and surge supressor that is built into my desk is also making the same clicking noise. I've tried unplugging my PSU from the unit in the desk and plugging in directly into the wall socket but that made no difference.
I'm fairly desperate for help as this is driving me insane. Is my PSU going to blow up in a blaze of Thermalcrap glory? Could I fix it by encapsulating the coils of the PSU in resin? Is it maybe the fault of dirty power from the wall socket in my room?
I've already cut the power cables to custom lengths and redone the braiding so RMA is out of the question, but I'd rather have to fork out for a new PSU now than have it blow up and have to buy a whole new system...
Any help would be greatly appreciated, I've tried searching but I couldn't really find anything that answered my questions.
Oh and for the record my specs are :
DFI NF4 Ultra motherboard
Athlon64 3000+ oc'ed to 2.7ghz (@1.55v)
Leadtek Geforce 6800 tdh
1gig dual channel OCZ Gold EL DDR VX (@3.2v)
Thanks in advance
Damien
