I want to use an oldish power supply to power like a car radio and possibly an amp. I can't find anywhere as to what cables to use off the power supply. I have tried the 12v 4-pin cpu connector an it fried a radio from there I'm kinda stumped. Any ideas as to witch ones to use, I have two or so radios left to try it on before i use the good one. I hope this is possible, because power converters are kinda expensive. TIA

You would need to use the yellow (+12) and the black (ground) wires. It shouldn't have much of a problem powering up the head unit, but powering an amp probably won't work, especially if it's an older PSU which typically have pretty weak 12v rails.

With the head unit you have your 12v switched power and you have 12v constant plus the ground. After i fried the first radio I was like umm not the rite way.
