PSU advice

So I just finshed remodeling my entire system almost about a week ago, and I purchased an 850w Rosewill powersupply. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817182072
The powersupply is nice, runs well and has lots of cords, most of which I'll most likely never use. I think I would just prefer something quieter. I think a large part of it may be my case as well, which I'm sure doesn't do much to silence any noise from inside. I'm looking now for an equal or better power supply to decide if I want to return this one for a refund. Anybody have any suggestions for something that would produce less noise?

isn't rosewill like newegg's house brand? Maybe i'm tripping but i thought i read that somewhere. Anyway you should get a psu from reliable brand like silverstone, seasonic, pcp&c. Check out Jonnyguru's website for reviews ( http://www.jonnyguru.com/ )if he gives a psu a good rating then its safe to buy it :p

Alright thanks everyone. The Corsairs sound nice, but I'm more immediately attracted to the silverstone sadly. There's no way I'd need 1000watts anytime in the near future honestly, but for the deal newegg has going on it it's only $50 mroe than what I paid for the rosewill, and modular cabling. I might look into some other silverstones and see what they have in the way of psu's with less wattage. Either way I'm going to keep looking around a bit, but I'm setting up an rma to get the rosewill refunded. Thanks again everyone :D

Hurrah for opening a dead thread. I just figured I would use this post I started a while back instead of starting and entirely new one. Anyway, I was hoping to get some user reviews for these two power supplies.

I know silverstone is a pretty reliable company for powersupplies, and I know that the one I listed had some troubles at the beginning but there was a response from the manufacturer saying they had sorted things out. Supposedly it had been a power saving issue of some kind. I would have to read it again.

I'm mostly curious becaus there were no reviews for the odin on newegg. I know Gigabyte makes reliable motherboards, but this is the only powersupply I know of made by them. ANd I'm just rambling. Any preferences, reviews, or information on the two would be much appreciated.

Check johnnyguru.com

The Odin has neat power-monitoring features but the software is horrible -- very resource intensive and crash-happy.
