I need some help please. I need to upgrade my 200 watt Bestec ATX-1956D power supply that came with my HP Pavilion 716n desktop computer. I've just ordered a new Nvidia Geforce 6600GT graphics card that requires at least 350watts power.

The problem I've got is, I believe my computer is a mini-tower. The dimensions of the current psu are 5.9w x 3.4h x 3.9d. Most of the psu's we're finding (at least stores locally, huge metroplex area) are deeper than what will fit in my case. I'd rather not buy a new case if I don't have to, so I'm looking for a 350w or 400w psu that will fit the above dimensions.

Anyone think that's possible? If not, then how do I go about finding the right case to match my computer innards? Is the motherboard slot the most important thing to know & judge a case by? I do not want to purchase any other new parts (a new monitor, video card & psu are enough ;) )

Here's the computer specs if you need them:
Pentium 4, 2.4GHz (hyper-threading technology)
512mb DDR SDRAM
80GB 7200rpm ultra dma hard drive
cd-rom 48x
dvd writer & cd writer combo drive
6-in-1 media card reader
Windows XP, home edition

Thanks in advance! :)

The joys of mATX.

You can move the optical drives to as far down as they go so they don't interfere with the psu, and use a normal psu. If that doesn't work, you can duct-tape the psu to the outside of the case, have the cables go through the back, and hook up normally.
