Maybe I'm biased for no reason. But i think most of that money is going towards the cable features and not the actual power supply
 
Nah thats a good PSU for the money. Id have no problem going with it. Plenty of people out there using it.
 
The modular is nice because you can have only the wires that you need in there and not have to cut them off.

Speaking of which.. ;) I am cutting down my Tagan this weekend. :D Wish me luck.

monarch computers is based in the US and ncix is Canada...I need cdn prices and no border crossing as that is just dumb and requires wayyyy too much money.

I'm not a fan of modular PSUs the least. Shit I think OCZ sucks. But for the Qpack modular PSUs actually make sence and from what I hear... the OCZ modular PSU isnt all that bad. If I had the money Id consider that exact PSU, just the higher wattage version. Currently I have a nice full size PCP&C PSU and the extra cables are a little too much. But I have managed to hide all of my cables by sacraficing one of my optical drive bays.
 
I would go with the Antec NeoPower instead. Its more expensive but it has several advantages. It has slightly higher wattage, comes with alot more connectors and IMO Antecs high end PSUs have a much higher build quality than OCZ. The recent revisions of the NeoPower come with cable sleeving too.

I have one of the newer NeoPowers and the cables it comes with are:

Mmmm I think either the OCZ or Antec would be good. I know that an OCZ is a bit of a tight fit in the x-qpack but it will fit, can anyone provide any insight on if the Antec Neopower will fir without any problems? That'd be my only worry...
 
What is the max length for a PS that you can fit in the qpack? I'm not sure how full my dvd rom is....
 
I have a neopower in mine and based on the placement of the modular connectors alone i would go with the OCZ. For me, I'm too happy with my pioneer dvd burner to switch to a smaller lite-on one. So thats where the placement of the modular connectors come into play. Since the neopower connectors sit right behind the drive, it won't allow me to push the drive in 15mm in order for my drive to sit flush with the case. Since the OCZ has all the connectors on the other side, I think that fitting a standard/larger dvd burner would be no problem. The neopower is a great psu but my only gripe is the placement of the connectors.
 
god what's up with all the hate on ocz psu's :rolleyes: OCZ makes some of highest quality consumer psu's right now. Hell, memesama hit more than 7.5GHz on one. I don't really see antec psu's going into the record breaking pc's. And look at the inside of an ocz psu, it is very BEEFY inside. People above are speaking from ignorance :rolleyes:
 
Pass up the Antec Neopower. Antec are all show no go. I have had one catch on fire and another die out on me three times after several rmas. I wouldnt truct an Antec in any system from my experience.
