Projector hook-up question, Need help

Hey guys. I just bought a new house and in the basement i want to have a home theater. I have a projector. Now here is the problem. On the basement roof i have a cable out and on the wall i have a cable in and out. I was told that this way i could hook up a satellite receiver and a dvd player at teh same time. I am looking at this and i have no idea how to hook this up. First of all for dvd, i need rca's. How will rca's work with a cable out. Is there a switch that i can buy or something. So to summarize the problem, how do i hook up a satellite receiver AND a dvd player to my projector using a cable out on the roof and cable in and out on the wall. Help is definitely appreciate.
