I have been looking into projectors like the Benq PB6200 as an alternative for display instead of the larger LCD monitors currently available. Does anyone have any information about how somehting like this preforms compared to the Current LCD monitor selection. I haven't been able to find any information on gaming info or reviews.

I have seen them priced for around $1300 US and I figure that if it is any good the 40" min. and some 80+" screen would most likey be big enough to play a "SERIOUS" game of just about anything. Also since it is HDTV ready I could save money and not get a new TV as well a computer.

Any thoughts?
 
i recently hooked my dorm's projector up to my computer to play some Hitman 2 on the wall of my dorm room. It was a $1700 Sharp, the model escapes me. Anyways, the ghosting is more recognizable in a projector than in standard lcds, but I was easily able to get used to in order to have such as magnificent screen to play my games on. It was completely and 100% awesome, and i would 100% reccommend you get one yourself. You'll never regret it, and you'll never want to go back... ;)
 
I can highly recommend the Panasonic PT-L-500u, at $1800 if you shop around... games are beautiful, especially games that run in 16:9 resolutions (most can in some way or another)

...I'm currently typing on a 96" screen with image quality that completely blows away the nicest plasma tv, and if you consider the price its stupid to buy anything else, do they even make plasmas that big? if they do I'd save my money and buy a ferrari instead :p
 
Is there a newbie guide to how projectors work? I really need a new comp, monitor, and tv and maybe a projector is a good way to get everything without breaking the bank? How would one go about linking everything together to do normal computer stuff, watch tv, and play xbox/gc/ps2?
