Project: The Holy Mammoth

silent-circuit, I tried that on each slot. Even cleared the CMOS every time too.

But I think I need to go to MC anyways since they have some extra goodies I am needing as well. ;)

2.3vdimm /is/ stupid-high. Can't say I'm terribly surprised. I generally stay away from anything rated higher than 2.1 for that very reason. That, and higher chance of boards with poor voltage regulation over-volting and killing high vdimm rated sticks.

Sweet, I finally got everything working.

However, I'm still in the process of adding some stuff and re-wiring additional things.

In addition to the 512MB Buffalo memory stick I bought at Microcenter, I also got these two things:

My older UV cathodes just burnt out so I figured why not and get some more. :D The fan controller looked promising from the various reviews I read, so I thought I'd get it. My intake and exhaust fans seem to be a little noisy, so the FC might come in handy.

I just checked my temps to see if I indeed did a well job with the water cooling and I was in 'aw'. So far, my idle temps are 19C on each core.

I know that's with stock speeds but still, that's pretty good IMO. I'll be sure to see what temps I get on load after I finish putting the other parts into my computer.

Peace.

What're you using to measure temps and what's ambient in your room? If the readings are below ambient they're wrong.

i used Core Temp and HWMonitor. Both were the latest version from their sites.

I also looked into my BIOS just for the fun of it, and it was reading 16C. Not bad if these temps are indeed correct.

My ambient temps are probably pretty low since I'm in my basement. Get's a little nippy down here.

Edit: Just realized, EIST/SpeedStep is enabled. But nonetheless, loving these temps!

I believe I can be classified as a [H]ard Ratpadz owner.

Don't ask why I have three XT's. Just don't ask...

I'll probably give one to my parents and have the other two for my Eee PC and the other for this rig.

Well it would have made sense to have 4... since you have a QUAD CORE buddy! 4 cores, 4 mice... wait - no that doesn't make sense. Sorry.

Looking good though. It'll be my turn soon with that tax rebate check... whenever it gets here.

Ordered one, came with a nice little dink on the end. Asked for a replacement cause the corner looked pretty scuffed up. A few days later got a new XT and I was allowed to keep the 'defective' one. Then I decided to order another one for my parents comp. :)

that green dye is just sick lol =) awesome.. is it just me or the wheels are bent? or maybe its the carpet.. lol.. looks clean man =)

Yeah, I had them angled as opposed to pointing straight since it made the case a little more sturdier.

I'm glad the UV dye turned out better than expected. Reminds me a lot of the blood from Predator. :D

I don't know why I got 2 bottles of it though. Only used up about 1/4 of it. Oh well. ;)

...because you totally planned to sell me one at a greatly reduced rate. And magically turn it blue beforehand, too.

Nice looking box. I'm browsing for ideas as I have a few of the Rocketfish cases myself.

.bh.

Well, I got past the 500FSB barrier.

Currently running at 535x7. I love what Orthos shows as my current clock. If only... :)

And only 46C on 100% load. :D

Now to see if I can get past 4.0Ghz...

hay is that just flat black you used to paint the frame?

Dam that looks so clean!!
nice wire management

Yup. It's just the non-glossy black. I wanted that instead because the exterior is the same texture.

Well I had to RMA my pump and fan controller this week. The pump keeps randomly shutting off or not powering up. And my fan controller has a knob that doesn't shut off or turn down my fan speed. Also, one of my other knobs is sort of bent at a 15 degree angle. Just looks awkward.

This is how much coolant I had in my loop. And yes, I did kill me a Predator. *13370rz*

Didn't realize that the UV dye stains that fast. Look at the tubing comparisons. :/

Anyways, I will probably get a new pump top and change my tubing with something better (Masterkleer or Tygon).

Got some extra goodies today from Amazon:

* OCZ XTC memory cooler
* 12' AC power cord
* 2x 10ft USB extension cables (not pictured)
* 15' HDMI to DVI cable (not pictured)

Since I will not be able to use my desktop for a few weeks, I thought maybe some Mario Kart Racing might ease the pain. ;)

My sister and I are gonna own so many newbies.

Talk about proximity.

I had tape the end with some electrical tape to prevent any shorting from occurring. :/

^^^Nice. Yup, there's nothing better than squeezing as much shit into a small space only to find out that you need to change something underneath all that clutter.

I was able to test out the memory cooler. Looks pretty cool (no pun intended). :D
