Project: Synthesis

Hey nice job man :) Can't wait to see what it comes out like..

One little suggestion - the halogen light unit you just bought - I've had a few of them and the bulbs get so hot they usually burn out WAAAYYY too fast. Most of the designs don't have any vents holes for the bulbs. I'd suggest drilling a few into the top of each lamp enclosure. The 500W bulbs in the last unit I bought lasted a whole 10 hours before the vent holes were drilled :p

nice job, its looking good.
fyi most of your pictures are no longer functioning.

i was going to say that after reading through the thread. have you tried other image hosting services for free?
looks nice, is their going to be enough room for the water blocks and the plexi too when mounted. to mee it looks tight.

Are you actually going to have it finished for x-lan? since its this coming weekend...

What clan are you in? I wouldn't mind coming to have a look...

Wow, tool city! Having great tools sure does make things go smoother. This is going to look awesome :) Keep it up.

i am currently in the process of changing hosting services as i guess the mad rush of user from this project being featured in the [H]ard new today has blown my bandwidth. but thanks for your concerns

sorry man this pc wont be at Xlan, iv e tried to get most of it complete to show but its impossible with only 2 days togo, i will be there though. At the moment im routing out the 2nd plexi stealth

Pictures haver all changed servers now, thanks for those of you who told me :) 2nd stealth is just about finished, will post pics tomorrow for your viewing pleasure :p

I think old Raz has been struck down with a bad chest infection that we all got from New Zealands major lan event this weekend just gone.
60% of the people got sick :(
No doubt hell be wowing you all with updates in the next few days ( or im going to go slap him )

that stealth mobo cover looks pretty cool, but i'm just wondering if there's a possibility of the mobo itself heating up because it's not getting air like it normally would. i know it's not the most important thing to cool as opposed to the cpu and ram, but i'm still wondering if it'll be a problem at all... also if you're gonna have a problem fitting parts on there and taking them off easily.

hey guys, sorry for not updating, i nearly died last weekend :p bloody flu.

o well ill get back to modding this coming weekend and post some new pics up asap

cheers raz

Time for an update me thinks :)
Finally got my Perspex today 1220x500mm sheets of Flourescent green and black, and the final pix of my rad installed.

Radiator installed with 2x SilenX 14db 120mm fan atop.
I'm wondering were you picked up that fan grill. I've been looking for something like that for a while.

that's pretty cool, looks like there must be a good library of sketchup parts out there... you have fans, videocards, motherboards, all that essential stuff modelled up.

I have seen alot of people use sketchup, and they all have the essential things in the model... and I doubt they are all doing it by hand.

I should look into sketchup...

anyway... looks good.

Hi guys, im back. Life intervened for a bit...
any way really sorry for not updating recently, i got some new and awesome pictures to show, there may be a few jumps in the pics but not alot. i lost my photos on the camera (damn family)

Comming along awsome richie, cant wait to see that touch scren in action. And dont forget i still want that LC off ya when your done :D

Excellent job so far- I can't wait to see how it turns out!

How much space is between your motherboard mask and the actual board then?

Keep up the excellent work!

Poor voltage regulation on the mobo is going to cook with no airflow :(

Other than that it looks awesome, really professional job

Must say that's an amazing piece of engineering on that sli-cooling setup
It is simple, compact and so logical in that form
a thing of beauty, a thing of perfection

Very cool, stealthing the motherboard, whodathunkit. I too am interested to see how any mobo cooling goes in the long run from the lack of airflow of the mask.

Don't you think you should give the motherboard some breathing room, having it in that enclosure you have made might warm things up a bit. Sometimes the mosfets heat up when you are doing gamming an they can cause the rest of the motherboard electronic components to heat up, which would suck since then all that sweet watercooling you did would have been put to waist. Personally I think it is more impressive to look at the motherboard rather than a black piece of plastic.

:D

it's not hard to add a small fan or 2 onto that "stealth" sheet to push some air onto the board.. and still have them hidden from sight, plus it's a good idea.

Still it does not matter whether you put a small fan in, it would not be able to move all that air trapped in the board, even a large fan. It is not a very good idea :p

Yeah, I guess but no matter what you do you will never get as good air flow as you would with a non stealthed board. But that fan could be a good way to circulate air although you probably would need to run it at middle rang which is like 30 db. SHIT THAT IS LOUD!
