Project: MDPC WannaBe

man,the case is amazing, wonderful! great job =D
and your new mascot, omg I loved it! ahaahahah

This is a beautiful looking build. It makes my water cooling project look very cheap and hackish by comparison haha.

Tadbo is glad to see all this publicity and fame! And I'm glad you all like my build!

Small update: kill coil of DOOM, and trying to sleeve some fans...

Now for a complete change in subject matter, as the Killcoil has been recaptured and installed... SLEEVING OF FANS!!!

I didn't have time to finish the sleeving of the first fan this morning. I haven't sleeved in awhile, so I need some practice.

Sorry for the lack of updates. The build is mostly done, leak tested and running. Been playing BC2 and AvP. I've been taking pics and will post them as soon as I have time (early next week). I agree, it is getting weird :) Tadbo is still doing well...

Amazing job on the sleeving - I have a sleeving kit I tried and those things just fall apart on me at the ends of the sleeving, I can never get them all the way down the cable, then heatshrink doesn't seem to hold it, and the list goes on with my sleeving history - man you did such a great job on that - I am envious of that skill. Sleeving is not my forte, but obviously you have been doing it for a while or something because you really did a bang up job on that 24-pin. Well done! OK not just the 24-pin - the whole dang PC - very amazing...........

All just awesome work and glad you stuck it out with the Lian Li as at least to me it looks better the CM 840. Great use of space and all around class.

Thanks all for the kind words!

I'm back! The build is basically complete, with a few minor tweaks I'd like to make. I've run into two problems since it has been up and running:

1. The pump went from quiet during leak testing, to making a high pitched whining sound, like when you first fill it and sometimes no water gets to it as your filling it up. Water is getting to it though, as I can see the little tornado in the res.
2. The motherboard makes a high pitched whining sound (like a bad cap) when I use the scroll wheel and when I click and hold and move the scroll bar. It doesn't do this all the time, but sometimes.

Other than that, the temps are decent and gaming is smooth. Might try a mild overclock later.

Anyways, some pics of the leak testing and such. Tadbo couldn't watch the leak test... too scared...

Wires look better now than in this picture.

I will post more updated pics later. I still need to buy an external drive, though I think I have an idea to make the internal an external.

Thanks for watching!

You know tadbo kinda reminds me of deepthink excellent work i feel like my cheep wires are all just trash now thanks man for setting the possible limit i was beginning to think i could never live up to it although it is still a stretch but the question is will I

Well, I've decided it is time to sell off this rig. After moving from Indiana to North Carolina for a job opportunity, and finding out we have another kid on the way (w00t!). I've already started parting it out. I just wanted to post some last pictures to close this thread out. I will be back! I'm planning another mod for when we can afford it.

Anyway, I leave you all with these:

Really nice mod! It's definitely starting to look pro :). Pity you need to sell it :(.

I would have suggested that you get the case powdercoated though, the unpainted bits are spoiling the look a little bit.

Another really good mod is to cut a piece of black acrylic, and use it as the 'floor' of the motherboard compartment, ie. use it to cover the silver unpainted bit. It'll be highly reflective and looks fantastic with a bit of case lighting.

Oh well, maybe with your next one!

Well sorry bro.

You know I loved this rig, kinda the inspiration to the rig I was working on. Very nice to know you are only a state away from me now as opposed to 5-6 states.

Cant wait for the next project than!
