What's the best general process and software I can use to test and overclock my vid card and CPU?

I have:
Athlon XP Barton 2500+
Sapphire x1600 Pro 256MB

Basically I am guessing for both I need software to:
- Set frequencies
- Temparature logging. Frequecy logging? In case of crash during a test?
- Test / Load

For the CPU all I know about is:
- Prime for test/load
- manufacturer mobo monitoring software (though my ASUS V600 did not have any and Asus site does not seem too either)
- Logging? not sure

For the ATI card I know:
- ATI Tool and ATI Tray Tools for overlocking / logging / stress testing.
Though with ATI Tray Tools I can't seem to get it to overclock my card.
I can move the sliders but they always go back to default when I click OK/APPLY.
Also ATI Tool doesn't always seem to detect artifacts. I would see them and ATI Tool would not react at all even though I had set it to stop once an artifact is detected.

- 3D Mark 05 and 06 for stress testing and loading.

Any suggestions on other tools? Or comments on the problems I have with the ones above?

TIA!

If you need to delete a post just PM one of the mods and they'll do it right quick. :p

At least you actually looked for the sticky... hehe

Good luck!
