Hey all, I took a look at the link off of the front page, and I was intrigued, so I decided to try FAH too.
So...I download the console version, I start it up and get my name and team number in there, and all seems to be good. I followed the instructions in another post to use the -config and -forceasm parameters, but I didnt like the fact that I had a window open. So I kept looking around, and came across a post about using EMI. I downloaded that and configured it to my box, ect..and it appeared to be working.

I dont know what happened, but now it doesnt. EMI kept giving the "Error" button, and I dont know how to tell what the error is, so I cant try to fix it. I dont know how to see FAH, since its run as a service, and no longer a window.

This is where I started to get frustrated :D I took a look in task manager, and I see that the console is running, but there's no core like there has been every other time Ive ran FAH. So I think maybe its because Im running EMI and FAH, I didnt know. At this point I either have absolutely no action on my EMI panel, or I get the "error" thing.

I decided to look into Firedeamon, and I configured that to work as well, and it worked too..for the first trame of the first WU. Now Im getting the "Error" thing, and Very frustrated.

Does anyone have any idea why its allowing my PC to run through the first frame and quit after that? why EMI hates me? why I just cant seem to fold?

Hello and welcome WetBiscuit.

Looked for that link on the front page you mentioned and couldn't find it. But very cool if it's there.

I'm not clear what your trouble may be, but hold - on the veteren folders will certainly be along to help.

gl :D

What is your operating system?
Is your box over clocked?
can you access the FAH Log to see if it has anything in it about your problem?
Please give us as much data as posible, it makes it easier for helping you,
and welcome to the [H]orde.

Depending on which protien your running sometimes with the first frame times EMIII just guesses.
Most gromac's fold around 2 points per hour per Ghz.
Tinkers around 3.5 points per hour per Ghz on an AMD.
So take the points value of the work unit divide it by 2 then divide that by the Ghz of your box.
If your running running more than one core then divide by the number of cores.
This should give you a rough idea of how long the work unit should take.
Compare this value with the one EMIII gives.
If EMIII reports a much much shorter time then that your problem.
That happened to me today.
Started off saying the WU would take 8 hours when infact its going to take 30.
Just give it time to work a true full frame.
If not then not sureas I dont run F@H as a service.

Luck.......... :D

Sorry, the link was on the front page a couple days ago, in a "forum happenins" post.

Im running XP SP2 with a 2.8 @ 3.51

The problem has gone away again, for some reason it just decided to start working again, I didnt touch a thing

Maybe it was just a freak incident. Ah well. Thanks for the info Tigerbiten, that'll come in handy.

Thanks for welcoming me guys!
