Problems with Radeon 9800

Hey all, I just bought a Sapphire Radeon 9800 and upon installing it I am experiencing some problems. I am getting an infinite number of beeps upon starting up my computer and nothing appears on screen. I am replacing my GeForce 3 Ti 500, and have never had any problems until trying to install this new 9800.
Any ideas or help would be appreciated!!

My Specs:

AMD 2200+
Epox EP-8k7a motherboard
Santa Cruz Sound Card
350watt power supply

My first thought is that my powersupply just is not powerful enough... but 350W should be more than enough for this set up... shouldn't it?

I also have 2 CD/DVD-ROMS and 1 HD...

1-Did you uninstall the Nvidia Drivers before installing the 9800? (although I dont think this is should be a problem)

2-Did you connect a molex connector from your PSU to the card?

3-All else fails try the card on another system and also look to see if the fan is even spinning.

Also I would think that would be enough power because one of my settups is a Dell which has 250 Watt PSU and its loaded and at one time even had 5900 Ultra.

Hey Guys, I'd still appreciate some help if any others know...

More details:

-I replaced the 5800 pro with my old GeForce 3 Ti 200. It works fine.

-The fan spins fine, and I have the molex power connected.

-After goofing with the card for a while, I got it to load once. I turned the computer off, screwed in the screw connecting the card to the case near the AGP slot, and turned it on again, it wouldn't work...

Make sure that when you are screwing in the card. That it's not pulling the backside of the AGP connection out of the socket (hope that makes sense). The 9800 will flash a message on your screen if you forget to plug in the molex connector.

OK, update:

The card works fine in my friend's case.

His card (radeon 9700 pro) works fine in my case, as does my old GeForce 3...

So why in the world isn't the 9800pro working in my system?...

In addition to that, are you making sure when you plug in the card that the AGP card "lock/latch" is locking firmly?
If not, when you put in the screw, the other end of the card may be pulling up and breaking contact as he said.
You should hear a definite "click" when you push the card into the slot.

does your board support 1.5 volt agp cards?

If the card fits in the slot, the slot supports it. Cards requiring different AGP voltages are keyed accordingly.

I used to have problems exactly like this, except with Matrox cards. Everyone gave me absolute hell getting them to seat properly. I eventually tweeked the screw slot on the cards to let them sit lower, problems fixed.

cool i did not know that. I wonder why Asus warns against using the wrong card in some of ther mobo manuals.. My current board supports both but i do recall seeing the warning in a manual from a past board.
