Problems with Catalyst Control Center

Did anybody have any problems with the new catalyst control center? I just got around to installing the new drivers, but the CCC sucks. It launches on startup, and slows down my computer even before I log in. The hard drive sits there and thrashes forever and bogs the whole system down. The CLI.exe process ends up sucking 20-40 megs of memory and takes about 10 minutes to settle down.

This is all on a 3.00GHz machine with 1.5GB of RAM.

When I uninstalled the CCC everything went back to peachy.

Has anybody else had any experience like this? I like the way it looks and is organized but for now the startup costs are unacceptable.
