I'm having problems painting the case where at the bottom, the paint never reaches it. Is there anyway to prevent this?

Disassemble your case.
 
lmaow. i thought the ment the bottom of the exterior of the case and i was like :confused: wtf? yeah take it apart maybe?

I mean I'm trying to do the front panel ATM, and the paint keeps missing the edges near the back of the front panel.

You're talking about the front panel... so the case IS diassembled?

I've found that a slower pass is sufficient (with minimal effort) to cover edges, but of course there's going to be increased orange peel effects. Increased orange peel = slightly more sanding = risk of sanding through the thin layers.
 
well thats what you needed to say in the first place instead of "at the bottom" ... what paint are you using?
 
To make sure and get every corner and every angle possible. You usually de-rivet a computer case so it's in many pieces. Hang each piece on a wire and spray individually.

I'm only doing the outside panels, though.

I don't have anything to hang the parts on, anyways.

Riveting guns are very cheap. You can get one at Sears for ~$20. They save A LOT of frustration!

Not to mention reriveting a case is fun as hell (not being sarcastic). Although if you go with this option, use scrap materials before you get the hang of it. I used the back of my case for trial and error and it took a few paint scratches and crooked rivets before I got the hang of it.
 
Lol. I agree Stuey83. I did have fun riveting mine back together too. It just works so well, and once you do get the hang of it the rivets will really reinforce the case. Just make sure to keep the rivet gun strait and pressed hard against the case when you are compressing the rivets, otherwise they wont work all that well. Also make sure to use the smallest rivets possible or you may run into problems later. I used 1/8" rivets on my CM Stacker, but that may differ from case to case.

Yup. 1/8" should be sufficient for most case applications.

What I learned is that once the tool is locked onto the post, pulling back carefully slightly will prevent the tool from slipping against the paintjob after the rivet pops. The downside to this is that the rivet will be set crookedly if you apply the slight pulling force too hastily or too strongly.

Here's what happened when I didn't yet get the hang of things:

another trick is to cut out a piece of the last page from a notebook, you know the very thick paper stuff. Then take a hole puncher and make a hole in that piece that you cut out. Slip it on the riveter through the punched out hole and when the riveter "backfires" it hits the paper and does no damage to the case.
