Problems installing OS

I just built a computer for my brother from Newegg and here are the some of important specs:

DFI Infinity Nforce2
Maxtor Serial ATA 80gig

I intend to get another HD later so he can have raid but for now he just has one.
I formated the hard drive and when i try to install Windows XP it says that no HardDrive is detected and can't continue. Also when it boots up it is not detected in the Startup\post screen where it shows the detected hardware. thanks

Do you remember seeing during the first part of the XP install...it says hit F6 to install device controllers? You need to do that and use the floppy that came with the mobo. If not, the PC will never see the HDD.

yeah, i pressed F6 when it said to and it didn't do anything special and then it countinued loading files. Then it says Starting Windows and
press enter to continue installing windows and
press somekey to activate System Recorvery

then i press enter and i get the no HD detected screen

i found the problem

lol my Ortek keyboard's Function keys didnt work for some reason. I switched the keyboard and Viola!
