my nonoverclocked sapphire 9600np was working fine, i went into the ati control panel to change the aa/af settings to try to get bf1942 to look better...i saved the settings and tried to load the game, it seems my monitor turned off while everything else was still running. i reboot and i can see the bios load and the xp home loading screen, but when windows tries to load, my monitor tuns "off" again. i can't boot into safe mode, only enabling vga mode works. i feel like i'm on a library computer with this 600x480 res in 8bit color. when i try to change the resolution size, the monitor turns "off" again. what could i have done wrong? should i try to reinstall my drivers?

Reinstalling with the latest drivers would be the first thing I would do. Could have been a software glitch. By any chance, is your 9600 passively cooled (no fan, just a heatsink)? Could it be that the card is getting too hot with the upped settings? I'm fishin' here.
