Problem with Lian Li

Just got a new Lian Li. Problem is...the I/O Shield didn't fit the MSI K8T Neo Motherboard. So i tried to switch the I/O Shields. I tried extreemly hard trying to put the new shield in but it just wouldn't go.

So...I was wondering if anyone else has ever had a problem like this with cases of their own and how often it occurs?

i had a problem is when my mobo's screw holes doesn't align with my casing's screw hole when i slot the mobo through the I/O plate...

but your case seems that the plate can't go into the casing... never encounter such though

I got my MSI K8N Neo Platinum into my Lian-Li case. The only problem I have is my AGP and PCI slots don't mach the back of my case properly. Once they are in the left side touches the case but the right side does not.

you basically just have to push it pretty hard. make sure you're putting it in the right way... it may only want to go in one way. good luck tho.

make sure the backplate didn't get bent... i got a bent one and i hammered it and everything... to no avail! i just pinched the edge of the IO plate with some pliers to make it smaller (it was sort of parallelogram-al) and jammed it in. Works ok.

I have yet to come across a case and mobo that didn't have some sort of minor alignment
problem...but I have found that sometimes re-screwing the mobo stand-off's would help a lot.
As for problems with the backplate, are you saying that the backplate that came with your
mobo doesnt fit? Because it should match your mobo, and from there it would be a whole
lot more easier to mod that plate then make your own.

yeah the one with the mobo didn't fit. I did some adjusting with some pliers, but still not doing to good. It is pretty bent, so i think i'll go w/o an I/O shield.

btw, the shield fits fine with the mobo just doesn't fit into the space in the Lian Li case where it is supposed to.

I have a similar problem. I thought Lian Li were supposed to be well crafted.

I had to remove my Audigy 2 because it does not sit properly in the PCI slot. The back of the motherboard tray is bent inward at an ever-so-slight angle and causes the back of the PCI card to not sit all the way down in the slot, and when I try to make the bracket reach the screw hole, it pulls the whole card out of the slot.

I've tried like hell to bend the back of the tray but it ain't budging, and I already ruined one Philips sound card trying to bend/file the bracket to fit.

I'm gonna put in an order for the new TT Tsunami. Lian Li has disappointed me.

which cases do you guys have b/c i have the pc65 and i had no problems installing my K8N Neo

Stellar: its nice to know that I am not the only one with that problem.

Also I have a Lian-Li PC-78B USB that I ordered from NewEgg.

Where did you buy your "Lian Li" from? Perhaps you have been sold a cheap knock-off?
