Problem with LaCie Electron19BlueIV

I bought a LaCie Electron19BlueIV just over a year ago, primarily for Photoshop. Over the last two-three months, it has developed a high-pitched squeal/whine when I am booting my PC; by the time I get to the login screen for XP, the noise stops. If it has warmed up and I power off, and back on within a short period of time, no sound. The image itself is still gorgeous. LaCie support has been useless to date..."try a different PC, try a different VGA cord, try a different powercord" - anything but just admitting that maybe, just maybe, the monitor has a problem (they come with a three year warranty that is proving to be virtually useless to date). Anyone have an idea what it might be?

I have the exact same monitor with the exact same problem from the day I bought it. Although when it's really hot in the summer it doesn't happen. I don't think it's anything major so I don't worry about it. Let me know if you find out it's something I should be concerned about.

....and I think I may finally be getting something to move at LaCie. After the last two e-mails to their tech support went unanswered - other than an autoreply saying that they had received it and someone would be in contact soon! - I did a bit of googling and found the name for the company CEO and President and dropped them a line with a copy of my original post here. I got a reply this morning asking for additional contact info and sent it; hopefully I'll hear something now. It may end up being an inconsequential manufacturing fault, yet when you pay over $400 for a premium, color accurate CRT for your work, you do expect not to have to have your ears assaulted in the process :p .

....a new monitor was shipped in my direction today, as well as a box to send the defective unit back in. It doesn't answer WHAT was wrong...I was curious!...but I am more than satisfied with their response after the e-mail to the president of LaCie. Not the route I would usually take, but their initial delay in rectifying the problem wasn't what I would usually expect to encounter, either..but hat's off to them for responding in the long run.
