When my headphones are plugged in I get some pretty heavy static. The volume of the static doesn't change if I turn the volume up or down. I can just barely make out game music when playing a music file.
 
Yarr, I got roughly the same setup as you.

Anyways, go into BIOS and disable onboard and uninstall anything sound related to onboard.Then do a fresh install of the Audigy 2 ZS drivers/software and make sure to install the THX Console. For some reason I was getting the same static as you and then I did all that and went to THX Console, and all of a sudden I had sound. Good luck.
