ok, heres the problem guys, built my new rig(in sig) every time i play battle field 1942 and im either loading a map or leaving the game, my computer restarts, this has just started happening, and everytime it restarts it goes to the scan disk for my second hard drive, its never the main drive or the second partition on the main drive. let me tell you a little bit about the old drive, i just use it to put my junk on, weather being music or videos, or stupid programs that are not needed unless just to dick around with, its a 40 gig maxtor, my main drive is the 160gig. i thought it may had been my memory but i ran memtest and prime95(memtest over night, made it past 1000%, and ran torture test on prime95 with no errors and no problems on either of the two programs concerning my memory or processor, im beginning to think that it is that hard drive, i can probably move the files i need to my second partition and format that drive, or i can get a new one, i thought i would come to you guys to ask what you would do before i do anything like that(trying to save money) also, if i do decide to get a new hard drive, my mobo supports the serial ATA, should i go with that, i work at best buy and get the 120 maxtor(7200rpm) for about 110 bucks... was considering to get that.... thinking about doing some video editing anyways and might need the extra space, but Please help me, if you have a sulotion to this without losing data/money, please let me know

download maxblast, and run a tourture test on the drive. go to windowes update, and get all the new stuff, check for patches on gigabyte website. try reinstalling the game somewhere else. game patches? heat?
 
well, i unhooked the other hard drive, reinstalled battle field, i got maxblast but i didn't know what to do in the utility and just exited and then ran the game again (this time with the desert combat mod) started to connect to the server and BAM shut down Again, do you think it might be a bad installation of windows, i installed windows and when i did i had like the standard graphics, no welcome screen, and some very very weird memory error when i logged on.... should i try formatting both partitions and starting anew?
