Problem calibrating Dell 3007fpw-HC

My 3007fpw-HC is overstaturated. Desktop, web, Windows Preview, etc. show extremely red skintones. After calibrating there is no change on any of these apps. What can I do to make Windows recognize the new profile?
I have deleted adobe gamma. Spyder 2 is the only thing in STARTUP but it didn't help. I installed Windows Image Color management and it was the only thing in STARTUP but that didn't help either.
I have tried Basiccolor and ColorEyes with no luck.
It is the only monitor connected to the PC.

Every response from other forums I've gotten so far is that these apps are not color aware and cannot be calibrated and my only solution is to use my videocard settings and sell my new Spyder2.

Photoshop does recognize the new profile. Here is the difference between a desktop and web image vs. photoshop/print.

Colorvision sent a new spyder2 which actually did make a better profile for PS but had no effect on everything else.

Thanks for any help

Could anyone with the 3007fpw-HC verify that they don't have this problem and are not using their videocard to make color adjustments?

What version of spyder2 do you have?
And, did you make any corrections to the monitors menu?
Did you attempt to adjust the red, blue and green from your monitors OSD?

There is only Brightness control for 30" monitors and no way to access a service menu. I would be able to solve the problem if it was available.

I'm using Spyder2Express

Can you change the setting to SRGB or calibrate to this? I think this may be an isse since the dell has the wider gamut at 92% but does not have the internal functionality of a high end graphics display.

Looks like the only fix is using the videocard but it doesn't adjust individual colors. Videos look great after desaturating but I guess this isn't the monitor for me.

Modern video cards have decent control over the R,G,B channels independently, does this not work for you? Over VGA the color corrected output is 10bits per color (interpreted by the ADC on the monitor back to 8 bits) so you don't lose colors by adjusting over VGA. Unfortunately at these high resolutions you pretty much have to use DVI where video card level corrections do lose you the slightest bit of color accuracy since its correcting over the same 8 bit / channel gamut which means you will have a slight color crush somewhere in the range when you correct colors - may be worth it to fix the saturation problems though. I thought both Nvidia and ATI cards had independent RGB curves with multi-point correction.

I've got what I'm pretty certain is a sure-fire solution..

Basically what I've learned is that the Spyder 2 hardware colorimeter is pretty good...the software is not so good. (even the more expensive Pro packages) This only for a limited time but go here http://www.integrated-color.com/Mer...n=PROD&Product_Code=CEDP-PCB&Category_Code=DL to download Coloreyes Pro beta for free and then register and post at this forum http://www.integrated-color.com/phpBB2/viewforum.php?f=7&sid=609861544abeae8dc34b48b3c0428945
if you have any issues getting it to recognize your Spyder2. I have used the Spyder 2 Express package as well as the Pro software borrowed from a friend....the Coloreyes software produced much better results than either. Give it a shot.;)

edit- remember to disable the Colorvision startup in msconfig or the profiles will conflict with each other.
