Problem adding 4th SATA drive

Howdy all,

Recently, I jumped on the BB deal with the WD SE 320 gig HDs for 99 bucks (SATA 150.) I've tried installing it and on boot the computer lists the drives, then hangs. I'm sure it works, as I tried removing 2 of the 3 drives already in place, and then it'd post. But with all 4 in place, no post.

My sig has my relevant computer components, except I've changed out the power supply for an OCZ Xstream 700w.

Could the 4th SATA spot on my mobo be damaged? Will I need to use a controller card? With the crossfire mobo, there's like no room for any add-on cards. It's just that tight, and I don't even have 2 gpus in there.

Have you tried reordering the drives? Some motherboards as just picky.

Nope won't change a bit, you may have to change the drive boot order in the bios in order to make your 1st boot drive the OS drive.

OK, fixed.

I had a spare SATA 150 controller card sitting around and decided to squeeze it into the barely usable PCI slot on the mobo, downloaded the drivers from Maxtor for the card, started up, and now I have 1k gigs of maxtor drives inside the com, and almost 1K outside as well
