Printer specs (Resolution )

Hi,

Without long explanations, I'll get directly to the question:

For a desktop color laser printer
one of the specs required is the resolution which says : 1200 by 1200 dpi for both color - black/white.

One of the offers was Konica Minolta magicolor 4650EN,
and the resolution spec mentioned in their data sheet is the following :

9600 x 600 dpi class with photo art.
600 x 600 x 4 bit contone.


My question is how valid is that specification to what is required.
