alright, im gettin a raptor and a 120 gig sata in a few weeks. and im tryin to figure out whats the best 120gb.

i dont really know much about sata. but i hear its faster so im willing to try anything :)

not per se, it is however more reliable, efficent and
has a much longer lifespan ahead of it than PATA

the performance increase displayed by the Raptor is mostly do to its spindle speed and controller\algorithm, not the interface itself

but basically one is just the bare drive the other is a boxed unit with installation software


regarding the Maxtor and Western Digital
SR Database select various benchmarks from the drop down list
and click on specific models in the list for indepth reviews, not all capacities are tested, but most families are, the difference typically being the number of platters in the drive
