Well, the price of the I7 920 just dropped $15 since I placed the order. I think I'm gonna refuse my shipment and re-order later on. Why is this quick price drop?
 
You think I should refuse the shipment? Or is the $15 drop not worth waiting about two weeks (shipment refuse/refund turn around time)?
 
Try contacting the retailer and ask them nicely to refund you the difference. They might just do it.
 
It's the risk you take buying computer parts. Call the retailer and ask for a credit but I wouldn't lose sleep over it.
 
I lucked out and was able to cancel my order before it shipped, then order again to take advantage of the combo deals and a $10 price drop. My order still hasn't shipped and I asked for newegg to adjust the price, I'll let you know if I have any luck.
 
Yea, why don't you give us 15 bucks since it seems trivial.. If the OP bought it through Newegg then they'll refund your the dif.

Hey, it's the price you pay when you're buying the bleeding edge stuff - we all know this. How many $600 GPU's have each one of us purchased that became $250 resale in 6mths?

If you've already placed the order, do as everyone suggested and call the merchant and request the difference. If they grant it, great - but pretty crappy on your part to refuse the shipment based on this and have them eat the shipping charges for your bad timing?

Newegg Rocks. I asked nicely and they responded within 30 minutes. Yeah in my case it was only $5, but that is $5 that will go towards my next newegg purchase.

yup, and newegg is doing 0% interest once again for preferred account members. It only last until the 12/5/08. So will placing my order for everything on the 4th :D. Waiting for some better ddr3 kits and already saved myself 15 bucks by waiting. Plus the EVGA bored is still OOS. :(. I just hope EVGA still has the free FC2 with their cards come the 4th...
 
I concur with all the above said about how newegg will work with a consumer of a purchased product which had a price change within 24 hours of purchase. But the OP never said he got his stuff there. I guess we assume he did because half of the stuff [H] guys buy comes from the egg.
 
Yeap, I bought mine from the Newegg, too. I already emailed them regarding the price drop. MicroCenter has it for only $289.99, man I wish Newegg could beat that.

Mine should be here later today. Just gonna accept it. $15 isn't going to kill me if they can't refund...
 
Newegg answered saying they can't refund me, instead they will deduct $20 off any future purchase...I guess something is better than nothing. The CPU and board arrived and I'm setting it up right now. Seems to be running smoothly...
 
$20 off a future purchase sounds better to me than getting back $15 anyway. I'd say you got a pretty good deal out of the situation :).
