What is it, 478 or the new one, or both. Do we all need to go out and by new MB and power supplies to make this change? Just wondering.
 
That's what I kinda figured. So, the Prescott will at least start out as a 478 socket. Man that's gonna get expensive upgrading all this stuff, AGAIN!!:(
 
Unless you really need a 478 processor, I'd recommend holding off until BTX, DDR-II, and PCI-E hit the market so you'll have a longer system lifespan

At which time they'll have faster, cooler, and better stuff due to be out in 6 months max 0_o
 
Its way too long of a wait for DDR2.

Its not expected to be at a consumer level until 2005. BTX may not become popular until mid-2005.

When DDR-II is introduced, isn't it supposed to have a top speed of 533 mhz or something? Corsair PC4400 is already faster than that, although uses quite a bit more voltage to do it with :eek:
