If I am not overclocking my prescott can I drop the voltage a little bit to drop the temperature? Right now at full load the max it hits is 53 celsius, going by the motherboards temp sensor. I had a northwood before this and I am just paranoid because of the temp increas, it is not something i am used too, so can i drop the voltage without any issues?

With stock cooler thats about right.

Anyway the thing with pressys is that they can take 50c and ussualy run at 40c, but the pressy can take 60c and runs around 50.
 
I have a MSI 865PE neo-2 motherboard and the temp sensor says it runs at 34 idle and about 53 at full load and i have a koolance waterblock on it. There not the greatest but i have the case that koolance makes. I have put AS5 on it and it is making a good connection with the processor.

That is why i am asking if i can drop the voltage a little since im not overclocking.
 
Another thing, what should the stock voltage be for a 3.4 prescott processor? If i am not going to overclock...?
 
Sotkc is 1.3875v, um the koollance isnt a great or even half great setup, but those seem right, your koolance cant handle the wattage at load.
 
undervolt is the way to go to drop temps on a pressie.

undervolting got me my best overclock and significantly lower temps.

Go as low as you can and step it up until you are stable. It's not uncommon to be stable at 1.3v or 1.325v. I'm running 1.325v @ 3.9 Ghz
