could a PPOE Westell Model:C90-36R516-01 rev:C DSL modem work on a PPOA connection? ...

I currently have ADSL using PPOA with a USB vision net modem .. I would like to (if possible) use a modem that connects to an ethernet port instead of USB ..any recommendations if the above mentioned modem cant be made to work on my connection?

thanks

possibly... you could put it in pass through mode and then use it as an ADSL bridge... requiring you have a router or PPPoA software on your pc

PPPoE isnt the way the modem talks to the line, its the way the modem talks to your ISP's network...

but if you put the modem in bridge mode, you can run whatever you want through it... it essencially becomes a passive device

but you can not use it as a router, as it does not support PPPoA authentication

the westell is a great choice... personally l ike the Speed Touch Home from Alcatel more tho :p
