Hey guys,

I'm looking to build a new system in the near future, and I was wondering if anyone had heard anything about this PSU. It's PP&C unit, so I'm assuming it's top notch, but it seems like a new unit so I was just curious to see if you PSU gurus had anything to say about it.

PC Power & Cooling Silencer PPCS500 500W

A 500W unit based on Seasonic's S12/M12 structure. Something close to "top notch" on 500W level.

all three pc power and cooling psu's I've owned are built like a rock both physically and electronically.

I just ordered this one. To replace my possibly burnt out OZC psu.
Which will make it the second or third time this psu went bye,bye on me. I thought OZC was the shit when I bought it but I guess not. So here I am on my first PC Power and Cooling unit.
I've heard so many great things about this psu that I'm positive I can hook my air conditioner up to it as well.J/K

Actually, that's not correct. The Silencer 500W is not based on an S12/M12. It's based on an SS-500ES. Same as Antec EarthWatts EA-500.

Which is also almost the same as a Corsair 450 right? Difference being that the Corsair uses 105C caps instead of 85C?

PC POWER AND COOLING is really good but im with ultra. i would pick out a decent ultra. i have a 500 w. x connect that puts out 34 amps on the 12 volt rail. it sustains 12.42 volts most of the time. it has lifetime warrenty to. its great.

If anything, the Corsair 550W is actually better. It really IS based on the S12/M12 platform as opposed to an SS platform and the 120MM fan IS much quieter.
