Power supply issue

I have a Cooler Master Silent Pro M 1000w (rig specs in sig). Lately - the past 3 weeks - I've been having some strange issues with it. The power supply will click, kind of like the sound you hear when you first turn on your PC, and the fan will rev up. The fan only stays at full speed for a second or two but will sometimes repeat this a couple times in a row.

There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason for when it occurs. System temps don't go up, no power surge, sometimes happens even when the system is idle.

I'm hoping to not have to replace it, but if that's what it takes, I guess I'll bite the bullet. I have an HX750 I could put in there but wasn't sure if that would be enough to power my system.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

HX750 is more than sufficient to power that system. I've powered more demanding hardware with my Seasonic M12D 750.

It's possible that the fan controller is failing. It shouldn't affect the rest of your system as long as the fan keeps the power supply cool enough.

Thanks for the response Tsumi. Everything seems stable. I leave my computer on 24/7 most of the time as well. Odds are I'll switch it out with the HX750 this weekend. Frankly, I prefer the Corsair over the Cooler Master anyway. :)
