My area had 75 mph winds last night. A tree knocked down some power lines and I was without power from 6 pm to 8pm. I got all the boxen running and folding by 10 pm.

Guess what?

The power went out again at 10:30 pm.

Ack!

The power did not return until 11 pm, but I was in bed by then.

No folding for me for the past 14 hours. I keep looking at my stats and seeing zeros.

Help!

Can you talk me through this? I am shaking uncontrollably!

Where are the tamales and beer? I already ate some popcorn!

Ack!

Where are the tamales and beer?

Next best thing to cold pizza and coffee for breakfast :D

I have been threading to get BBU for my systems since the last power outage I had. Even if the batteries do not have enough juice to carry over, at least things can shutdown gracefully.

The same exact thing happened to me, though I am a bit north of your location.
My points have been updating though, so I'm not sure what the issue is.

Have you checked to make sure your systems are still sending/receiving work units?

btw, those winds were

I know why I am not getting any points.

My boxen are still turned off. I need to go home and get them running again.

That sucks- I have a Cotijas near the house, and I will make sure to get an extra Diablo shrimp burrito next time I stop in...

But I understand the 'sudden power loss' feeling; I was typing a paper last night when the cat circled my feet and decided the computer needed investigation. Little *$%%@! hit the power switch on the back of the power supply (I didn't think she could even get back there). Lost about half an hour's writing and two years off my life.

I'm surprised that no one gave me any sh@%t for going to work with my boxen down.

I prefer my crap [H]ard.

I can't do it myself.

;)

I just thought you needed that much beauty sleep...

Any I agree, I have a little 550w UPS on my system that (usually) allows for a graceful shutdown. Except for that F'n cat...:(

My kids!

While I was at work they turned on the internets, fired up their boxen, and turned on F@H!
