Long story short had my PC running when it got dark out like it was going to pour. Thought nothing of it until I heard the A/C dipping in speed but yet my PC didn't flicker or anything but I shutdown within a few minutes of a few flickers just incase. Now a few days later I'm getting random lockups so I'm thinking that my PS didn't like the dips much and its now becoming a issue. I do have a surge on the line but no UPS. Thanks!

Most good PSUs, including your VX550, are capable of withstanding brownouts and dips in power without major issues. However, it is possible that some damage did occur to the PSU. What I would advise first is that you set your BIOS back to its defaults and don't overclock any of your components, and then see if you still have stability issues. If so, then you can start troubleshooting to find out what component is at fault (it could also be your motherboard, your RAM, your HDs, your CPU, etc.).

Oops forgot to change that. My VX550 also went downhill slowly so I replaced it with my old Silverstone 650 watter and things were well again until now. Ugh... :(

I would RMA the VX550 back to Corsair and see if the return unit fixes the issue. If the power supply degrades again, I would consider looking if your computer may be drawing too much from the PS or if you are having electrical issues. Have you had any other electronics devices in the house giving you issues?
