I just want to point out something. When you use the "override"setting in the nvidia control panel, it does not work for many games - it will ignore EVERYTHING you put as an override setting for roughly
60% of games. I own both GTX 580 SLI's and 6970 crossfires, and while the gtx 580's are faster in single configurations what i've found is that CCC always obeys override settings while nvidia control panel sometimes ignores everything. A
good example of this is dead space, if you enable any override settings in nvidia control panel nvidia forces it to ignore everything. You can confirm this in nvidia inspector.
Another recent example is Dead Island. NVCP ignores everything, while CCC obeys everything you input as override settings. Another -- BF3. Now it doesn't matter so much with BF3 because it has ingame options, but AA override settings
last I checked were ignored for BF3 and nvidia CP.
The latest version of nvidia inspector that i've been using also shows that the NV CP also ignores most settings for skyrim as well.
I am going to be harsh for a second--I am pointing this out because your website continually does these type of comparisons with DRIVER SETTINGS. You should avoid this. Once, obviously because nvidia ignores many override settings
without prompting the user to notify them. Secondly, an in driver option has a substantial performance hit compared to an ingame option. I get it, some games don't have ingame options -- but driver options if they're ignored, what difference does it make?
because their control panel doesn't apply the settings that you specify. I've even brought this up with a developer at nvidia, and hebasically conceded that this is the case and mentioned that a future release may tell the user that the setting will be ignored.
What I would love is if anyone had direct access to a higher up at nvidia and see how they feel about their nvidia CP ignoring so many settings, which obviously sets up bad comparisons in reviews.
