If you post a question in the wrong section would it not be more helpfull to have the post moved to the correct section rather than locking the thread? I looked at all of the sections and chose what I thought was the most appropriate one. Turns out I was wrong... thats fine, but now if I want to continue the topic I have to repost in the correct section and I dont even know which one is correct...

Anyone know where I should have posted this?

cool, thanks for clearing that up for me... is the subscription on the parent site? I always just come straight to the forum :)

http://www.hardforum.com/subscriptions.php?

It's for the last forum in the list, without subscription I think you can view the forum, but not post. Oh, and you would have had a better chance on the thread staying open if you would have mentioned some specific hardware, you just said "product" just a heads up!

Under normal circumstances if you have a question about the administration of the forum such as a Mod closing a thread, that Mod should put a note as to why it's being closed. You can then PM the Mod and discuss with them the reason it was closed if you feel the reason they posted wasn't sufficient to explain it. Also you can contact one of the Super Mods or Admins if a particular forum doesn't have a Mod. The complete list is here for Forum Leaders.

As creedAMD pointed out if the thread really doesn't have an appropriate forum to be moved to, it would be closed. Hope that answered your question. :)

Yeah, thanks guys... just peeved me a bit when I saw that my thread had died... :D

But it worked out ok, I didnt realise that this forum was subscription based, after all the stuff I've found out about on here I think it deserves my subscription. ;)

Damn straight. It's well worth it.

still can't post in the offtopic section... how long does the subscription usually take to process?

Did you receive a receipt from Paypal? If so let me know :)

It's supposed to be automatic and shouldn't take very long at all.

Since it's been a few days, I'd suggest you forward a copy of your paypal receipt directly to kyle@hardocp.com and he can check what the problem might be and activate it for you. :)
