I understand that according to:

(22) The buying, selling, trading or solicitation of SERVICES is prohibited.

I cannot post this type of ad in the FS/FT section.

Is the permitted in other sections?

I am looking for someone to help diagnose a troublesome server. It is a paid job that would only last a few months.

Posting help wanted or job wanted is not permitted anywhere on the forum except in a limited fashion in General Mayhem.

What you are asking really wouldn't qualify as solicitation if you just asked for help solving a problem. If you wish to repay the kindness of the gesture off the board, that would be your decision.
 
As the Major said, ask for help (On the Network&Security forum, thats where most of the people that could help hang out.) and discuss payment in the PM. Problem solved. :D
